Lorenzo Gioelli
BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1997, Lorenzo Gioelli is an Italian composer, sound designer and violinist, working in the field of film music and concert music. Coming from a classical background over the years he had the opportunity to explore a wide variety of musical styles, including experimental, electronic and pop music.
Fascinated by the relation between sound and images he studied film scoring and sound design, earning a Master ’s Degree in Applied Music whit the highest honors.
This led him to develop a composing style in a state of continuous evolution, based on integration between music, acoustic sonorities, electronics and sound design.
His work as a composer includes original musics for the film Snot and Splash (2023), for the documentary La Fabbrica dell’Italiano (2021) and the opera Flatlandia (2022).
As sound designer he compares in the credits of the film Quel posto nel tempo (2022) and the short film Autoritratto con arma (2021).
He is also credited in the film Il più bel secolo della mia vita (2023) and the Netflix movie In fuga con Babbo Natale (2023).
He won the WDR FILMSCORE AWARD in 2022, first prize for the best soundtrack at the international competition ETC (Cologne, Germany).
He received the Honorable Mention at the international competition EUROPEAN TALENT COMPETITION in 2021 as part of the collective Delta Sound Composers.
