Alessandro Stocco

BIOGRAPHY

Alessandro Stocco was born in Padua on August 31, 1965. An accomplished engineer and owner of an engineering firm, he resumed his musical studies in 2020 and, in 2023, earned a Master’s degree in Applied Music from the “F. Venezze” Conservatory in Rovigo. He is a pianist, composer, and sound designer.

Since 2021, Stocco has been a member of the “Delta Sound Composers,” a group that received a special mention at the “European Talent Competition” in SoundTrack Cologne 18. With this ensemble, he contributed to the sound design of Giovanni Ortoleva’s short film Autoritratto con Arma, produced by Berta Film, which competed at the 2021 Turin Film Festival and won the “Ermanno Olmi” award in 2021. Additionally, the group composed the original score for the documentary “La fabbrica dell’Italiano”.

Stocco was also part of the team responsible for the sound design and post-production of the film Quel posto nel tempo, directed by Giuseppe Alessio Nuzzo and featuring Leo Gullotta.

His piece Dal profondo was included in the soundtrack of the musical pastiche Flatlandia, performed on May 6, 7, and 8, 2022, at the Teatro Sociale in Rovigo. The sound design for this production was a collaborative effort.

In 2023, Stocco was a finalist in the “Your Sound for Silent” competition, part of the 19th edition of the Lago Film Festival in Revine, with his composition “I tre elementi”.
